Vauxhall’s Latest Frontera EV Offers Seven Seats and a 248-Mile Range

The highly anticipated Vauxhall Frontera is set to make its debut in the UK market very soon, offering an exciting electric alternative to the popular Crossland. With a range of up to 248 miles and the option of seven seats, the Frontera is sure to make a big impact.

One of the key selling points of the Frontera is its versatility, with two battery options available. The standard battery offers a range of 186 miles, while the long-range version can travel up to 248 miles on a single charge. Both batteries are capable of charging at up to 100kW, ensuring quick and convenient charging for busy lifestyles.

In addition to the electric models, there will also be a mild-hybrid petrol option available. This option features a 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine with either 100bhp or 136bhp, combined with a 28bhp 48V motor and a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. This combination delivers a smooth and efficient driving experience.

The trim structure of the Frontera mirrors other models in Vauxhall’s lineup, with options ranging from the entry-level Design to the mid-range GS and the top-spec Ultimate. For those in need of extra seating, the Frontera will eventually offer seven seats, catering to larger families or those who frequently transport passengers.

With pricing set to be announced in the coming months, initial figures from Germany suggest that the Frontera could be one of the most affordable electric SUVs on the market. With a starting price of around €24,000 for the mild-hybrid model and €29,000 for the electric version, the Frontera could be a cost-effective option for eco-conscious drivers.

Designed using the Smart Car platform, the Frontera shares similarities with the Citroën C3 and C3 Aircross, as well as other affordable electric models from Fiat. Measuring 4380mm in length, the Frontera is slightly longer than its Crossland predecessor and is positioned as a rival to popular models such as the Dacia Duster and Nissan Qashqai.

Inspired by its 1990s predecessor, the Frontera features a rugged and upright design that sets it apart from the crowd. Vauxhall managing director James Taylor believes that this new design will appeal to a wide range of customers who are looking to make a statement on the road.

Overall, the Vauxhall Frontera promises to be a game-changer in the electric SUV market, offering impressive range, versatility, and stylish design at an affordable price point. With its upcoming release in the UK, the Frontera is sure to attract a lot of attention from consumers looking for a practical and environmentally friendly vehicle.
