Man United’s Lisandro Martinez to make a comeback from injury against Newcastle, revealed by Erik ten Hag… with three other players in a race to regain fitness.

Lisandro Martinez, the Argentina defender for Manchester United, is gearing up for his return to the pitch after missing significant parts of the season due to various injuries, including foot surgery, knee ligament damage, and a recent calf strain. Despite these setbacks, Martinez is determined to make a comeback and contribute to his team, especially with the upcoming FA Cup final against Manchester City at Wembley on May 25.

Manager Erik ten Hag confirmed Martinez’s return and also mentioned that players like Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, and Willy Kambwala are working hard to be fit in time to face Newcastle in the final home game of the season.

“Licha Martinez, I think he will return in the squad,” said Ten Hag. “He’s had some sessions with us, and we plan for him to be available if this afternoon everything goes right in training. Some other players we have to see: Bruno, Rashford, Willy, if they are fit enough.”

Additionally, Ten Hag expressed hope that Raphael Varane will play for United again despite confirming his departure as a free agent at the end of the season.

As for Fernandes, amid speculation about his future due to interest from Saudi Arabia, Ten Hag emphasized the midfielder’s importance to the team, praising his contributions on the field.

The return of Martinez, alongside the potential comeback of other key players, adds to the anticipation and excitement surrounding Manchester United’s upcoming matches. Fans eagerly await to see how the team performs and if they can secure victories in their remaining games, including the FA Cup final.
